at what age do muscles start developing, and when do you completely lose baby fat?
I want to know when my extensive weight lifting will start to show properly, and if my fat (stomach area) is baby or lazy.
im 13 years old. i have a normal metabolism (i think). im 5 ft 11.5 inches. iweigh 72 kg (apprx. 165 lbs). and i do half an hour to 45 minutes of weigts (2 kg dumbells) every alternate day (1 day in betwen to recurprate).
ill measure my waist and edit the question in about a day.
hey man: FYI: weight lifting IS great, and it sounds like you’ve got a good plan already going. BUT what WILL "burn your fat off” is CARDIO workouts.
Lifting weights, like i said: that’s awesome. but lifting adds muscle mass to your body, it is not really a "fat burning" kind of activity.
cardio exercises are things like running, biking, swimming (like swimming LAPS, guy, not doggy-paddling and splashing around…lol!)… roller balding, you know activities that really get you breathing heavy and your heart pumping.
also, it matters how LONG you do cardio for.
Example: with weight lifting, it doesn't HAVE to take a long time… you could simply lift heavier weight and do less reps, which would = less time.
HOWEVER, with cardio you really get the important benefits of the activity when you do it for an extended period of time…
i'd suggest 30-45mins / 3-5 times a week (DEFINELY: if you find this difficult -like physically difficult- to complete the length of the workout, start off doing cardio for 20mins… and work your way up to 30-40mins over a period of 4 weeks or so…)
anyways, when you exert your body for this amount of time, it forces your body to use "stored energy"…basically: your body starts burning fat when it runs out of the sugars stored in your muscles (the sugar stored in your muscles is what your body uses during weight lifting sessions, you see? … if that's all you do, your body never really gets a chance to start burning fat away, you know?)
: )
ok… that's enough training lessons for the day!
So yea, just add cardio to your routine and you will totally be a babe in no time.
PS. Are you SERIOUSLY only 13? Com’on I don’t know any 13 year old who works out this much and is as SMART as you!
I think you’ve got it goin’ on, man!!!!

I dunno to be honest it took me a long time to get rid of my fat. I've been swimming for 8 years now usually 3 hours a day with at least an hour at the gym every other day. And I got abs at 17 without changing my diet or anything. (It's probably cause my diet was ridiculous I used to down half a gallon of ice cream no problem)
