If you start your baby on solids with fruits, will he develop a ‘’sweet tooth”?

My dr said that my baby has the sweetest drink there is, breastmilk, & that this is an old wives tale.

I agree with him… But what do you think? Did this happen to YOUR baby? Or a baby you know?

Thanx, God Bless

yes it is. i itroduced fruits first and my son loved his veggies best- besides, fruits are just as importnant as veggies anyway. they are going to figure out what they like regardless. if you start with veggies and then go to fruits they may decide that thye like their fruits much better

I asked this earlier, but I thought I’d ask for more opinions. ?

Here’s the timeline…

Aug. 20th - LMP

Sept. 1st - ooops… didn’t use a condom (CD 13)
Sept. 2nd - started noticing CM (CD 14)
Sept. 10th - CD 22 - tested, negatice (too early, I know)
Sept. 13th - CD 25 - tested, negative (still too early)
Sept. 16th - CD 28 - tested at home (w/ first morning urine), positive; confirmation test at OB, negative

So, today is Day 28 of my cycle. I haven’t missed a period yet. I am usually 28-32 days, but have been as late as 36 days.

This morning, using first morning urine, I got a positive on a home pregnancy test.

I went to the doctor a few hours later, and it was negative. She said that their tests aren’t sensitive enough to detect the pregnancy hormone until the missed period is a week late.

Is it too early to detect the pregnancy? Was I just lucky in getting the positive since FMU is usually more concentrated? I am going back for another urine test at the doctor’s next week, and they will not order a blood test at this point. The nurse said that it’s too early.

i think that you are pregnant.. it is very rare to get a false positive test. so id say just go to the doctor in another week or 2 so that they can confirm the pregnancy with a blood test.. congrats!

Cheap tests and symptoms.?

I have several pregnancy symptoms like cramps as if my period is about to come on, dizziness, gas, fatigue, slightly swollen breasts and aches, also the 'feeling' like I'm pregnant which is driving me batty.
I used two cheap Discovery HTPs this morning and they read negative. I feel as if they are incorrect for some reason. The timeline suggests I could have conceived which makes me wonder even more. The test package does not say what levels of HCG it needs for detection so was I foolish to but that brand? I would be 3 1/2 weeks along so would my HCG levels even be high enough for testing right now? Any help would be appreciated, I'm confused.
And yes, my period is quite late!

The cheap brands are just as accurate as name brands. You seem to be stressing..which could delay your period.
Saying that you are 3 1/2 weeks along… are you counting from the first day of your LMP? If so, it's not quite time for your period yet, so it may be too early to test. Give it a little more time.
Good luck

DOC: MOTHER CHILD BONDING: CHAPTER 1

CHAPTER 1 OF AN INSTRUCTIONAL SERIES OF 7 CHAPTERS DESIGNED TO INCREASE EMOTIONAL BONDING OF MOTHER AND CHILD BOTH BEFORE AND AFTER BIRTH.

A DVD IS AVAILABLE FOR FULL SCREEN, HIGH QUALITY VIDEO. CONTACT ME THROUGH MY EMAIL FOR DETAILS. COST IS $9.99 PLUS $3.45 SHIPPING AND HANDLING.

Our Mother Child Bonding Series is based on our experiences with mothers and children in our SOULSPEAK MOTHER/CHILD programs.

We feel the optimum benefit can be had by starting before birth, but it can be started after birth at any time: the first month, first year, second year, third year and right up through year six.

Just as a healthy physical and emotional environment aids in developing a happy, healthy baby, our experience (and the experience of others) has shown that a clean, non-stressful environment is just the beginning of what can be done to create a healthy, lasting emotional bond between you and your baby.

What is needed is a way of transferring the deepest emotions of the mother’s heart to the baby, both in the womb and afterwards.

Many mothers instinctively sing to their baby, or play music for their baby, during pregnancy (and afterwards) to help accomplish this.
It is an excellent first step, and one that is also an integral part of the SOULSPEAK Mother Child Bonding Program.

What is totally unique about SOULSPEAK is that it allows mothers to speak to their babies from the deepest part of the beings. Many mothers speak to their babies instinctively, even in the womb, but usually in a chatty, informal way. It is a natural connection.

What SOULSPEAK allows mothers to do is deepen that natural connection and speak to their babies from the deepest part of their souls. It makes the connection transcendent.

It doesn’t matter that the baby doesn’t understand the words, what the baby feels is what you feel, and what you feel when you do SOULSPEAK is a moment of transcendence, of rising into light, that has no equal.

The baby will remember that feeling and will wait for it to happen again.

Speaking SOULSPEAK to your baby is like infusing your baby with emotional light. It is a transcendent light that is like no other. That light can be continually fed to your baby by doing SOULSPEAK.

Just by doing SOULSPEAK, the mother child bond will grow deeper all by itself, and when the child starts to speak, the child will begin to echo your SOULSPEAK until at age 5 or 6 the child will begin to compose SOULSPEAK with you, automatically.

That is because SOULSPEAK is an inherent part of our human nature. The kind of bonding that can be achieved through SOULSPEAK can never be broken. Never.

You will run into problems with your child at every stage of his or her life, problems of anger, confusion, misunderstanding, but that is only natural.

What SOULSPEAK allows you to do is step aside with the child and resolve those problems, not just on a thinking level or physical level, but on a Heart Level, the only level that is truly lasting and weathers any storm.

By simply viewing the chapters and responding to them, you will be able to spontaneously speak SOULSPEAK to your baby. If you wish, you can start long before the baby is born.

You can continue the process for a lifetime. You and the child can do SOULSPEAK whenever you feel like it.
Every time you do, the Mother Child bond will be strengthened.

You can do it once a day, once a week, once a month, depending on your personal rhythms.

What could this be?

Ok here is the timeline. My gf and I had sex for the 1st time unprotected on a Saturday night. On monday she began her period. ON friday or saturday it was finished or gone completely. two days later on monday she said that she had a regular discharge nothing unusual or foul but that with it came a very small amount of what appeared to be blood tissue. this happened again on thursday for the second time. maybe im just paranoid as well as her but could this be a sign of pregnancy or an std?

No, if she was on her pregnancy thing her period wouldnt be going on by then. get her a pregnancy test or go to a doctor. I dont know about STDs, but next time please use protection !

Is my baby developing normally?

At 3-1/2 months, my baby girl can not yet roll on her side. I can observed though that she has been trying to lift her head while she is lying on her back, but I had not observed her trying to roll on her side. I heard and read that at 3 months, babies in general, can already roll on their sides, and eventually lie on their stomachs. Is my baby girl developing normally ?

Don't worry……milestones are GUIDELINES, not actually written in stone!! If your baby is trying to lift her head, that is good!!

Make sure she gets "tummy time" every day, when you are able to lie her on a hard surface, and she has the opportunity to try to lift her head that way too. It's important to do that a few times a day to develop neck control muscles as well.

I had a baby that didn't roll till she was 5 months old, and she is bright and happy, and meeting all the "milestones" now…..some babies just take a little longer than others, but mostly they all get there:)

What causes breast leakage, had a negative test result, and a period.?

My friend had unprotected sex, didn't use the pull out method but took a pregnancy test about 3 and a half weeks ago and it came back negative. She had her period around the first of this month and a week after that, she has been saying that she has leakage from her breast. Does the timeline make any sense? I'm not good at calculating these types of things but is it possible that she is pregnant? She's so scared. She went to the doc this past Tuesday for a blood test but I've been doing my research and everything that I've read pointing to breast leakage seems pretty negative. Also wouldn't it be too soon to produce colostrum? Is there any way she could be pregnant or should I be the supportive friend for something wrong? She doesn't have any pregnancy symptoms but it would be way too soon to tell right? If she were to be pregnant, don't you have HCG in your blood stream before implantation bleeding if that wasn't her period but implantation and it wld have shown up on test?

It could be a sign of cancer. She seriously needs to be checked out by an OB/GYN to know for sure what is going on.

There are some mothers who leak from 12 weeks on…and then others who don't leak until 28 weeks or so..different with every pregnancy to.

Baby Names

The most important aspect of personality affected by names is self-concept. Self-concept develops as children develop, and it is “learned” from the verbal and non-verbal messages significant people in children’s lives send them. Parents are the most important message-senders, but, as children mature and become more and more independent, the messages of teachers, classmates, and other people all contribute to their developing concepts of self. In a sense, self-concept works as a kind of script for the way people act. If a boy has an image of himself as bad or as not capable of doing well in school, his behavior will probably reflect that image. He will tend to behave the way he thinks a “bad boy” is supposed to behave, or he will fail to learn as he should even though he might be quite intelligent.

A person’t name has an impact on the process of building a self-concept because the name helps determine the messages other people send the child. It has been well established through research that certain names are generally considered desirable in our culture and have positive feelings associated with them. It is also well established that other names are looked upon as being undesirable and carry negative associations. For example, Curt, David, Diane, Jeff, Judy, and Linda are all considered desirable and positive, and Agatha, Edgar, Francis, Mabel, Marvin, and Phoebe all provoke the opposite reaction (See Chapter 10 of Anderson). Because of this, people unconsciously, but nevertheless effectively, send positive and negative messages in keeping with positive and negative images.

Most of the time these messages are very subtle, but sometimes they take the form of jokes, teasing, and even ridicule, especially within the child’s peer group. At best, the joking and teasing can make children self-conscious about their names and reluctant to have any contact with other children out of fear of being ridiculed. At worst, especially when insensitive adults think the jokes and nicknames are funny and actually use them too, it can undermine what might otherwise be healthy personalities.
